About

OpenTZ is a free software service (GNU AGPL v3 or later) that reproduces the TimeZoneDB API (v2.1 request and response format) and makes every feature available for free. It is independent from TimeZoneDB, whose name belongs to its owner.

Data and attribution

• Time zone rules: TimeZoneDB free database (CC BY 3.0), derived from the IANA Time Zone Database.
• Cities, regions and country names: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
• Time zone boundaries: © OpenStreetMap contributors, via timezone-boundary-builder (ODbL).
• IP geolocation: IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0).
